Visited “Old Friends” in Kentucky with some Family and Friends. Our girls had done a “Race Horse” rescue of sorts here on the farm, we took in almost 25 over a period of time. NOT a business as it was pretty expensive. And they often times had issues where they would never be a pleasure horse. Long Story. When the girls went off to college we slowly converted to cattle. Have TWO old race track horses left, basically “yard ornaments” at this point. We lost one of the more sound ones that was both ridable last fall. Old friends is A series of farms dedicated to letting race horses retire in comfort. A “non profit” that truly is a labor of love and those interested should take a look and participate at some level if possible.
